Rebecca & Brendan's Barn at Lord Howe Valley Wedding in Ticonderoga, NY

Rebecca & Brendan's Barn at Lord Howe Valley Wedding in Ticonderoga, NY was such a beautiful summer day spent in Upstate New York!

Ticonderoga is just over an hour north of Saratoga Springs at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains. It is known for the historic Fort, Ticonderoga Pencils, the Original Star Trek Series Set Tour Museum (!) and now, the start of Rebecca & Brendan's married life together! :)

As previously mentioned on the blog, we did Rebecca's sister Rachael's wedding in Albany, NY and both of their engagement sessions in Saratoga Springs (which we will link here once we get them posted to the blog).

Everything at The Barn at Lord Howe Valley is on site, including the getting ready area, which is split within a single building so that each one of the couple's wedding party can get ready in a space just down the road from the ceremony / reception venue. You can see the getting ready building in the first picture below.

Being so close while getting ready allows the sweetest moments to occur between the couple. For instance, the note exchange pictured in the getting ready photos below. You could really feel the emotion and anticipation for the big moment. You could say the tears were flowing like the Saratoga Water that the bridal party toasted the day with. ;)

Rebecca & Brendan decided to see each other for the first time during the ceremony (instead of doing a first look), so they both made their way down to the main barn for the main event. And such a sweet moment it was! We are always so torn between suggesting a first look before the ceremony and a first look during the ceremony. Going with before allows us to get some great time with the couple for portraits before hand and leaves more time for celebrating directly after the ceremony, but it is always so sweet seeing each of their faces during the walk down the aisle. If the couple decides they want to wait for the ceremony we always recommend some sort of note exchange, hand hold around a corner or something similar because it is such a great way build the anticipation of the day. Luckily for us, Rebecca and Brendan were all over that idea before we could even suggest it! :)

After the sweetest ceremony, we did all of the portraits right outside of the barn making use of the sweeping vistas the venue was obviously chosen for. Such a gorgeous backdrop for photos! And we loved to option to turn around and utilize the rustic-ness of the venue with copious string lights to add some nice warmth and sparkle to the images.

Cocktail hour, cake cutting and family portraits also all occurred right on the patio directly outside of the venue while the inside was flipped for the reception. The interior is so large though that a majority of the space was already setup for the dinner portion. By the time we returned with the couple, it was time for the first dances and the rest of the night's festivities!

We look forward to the day we can return to photo for another The Barn at Lord Howe Valley wedding, but in the meantime, congratulations Rebecca & Brendan! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness! :)
